What your Partner needs from you

Met attachment needs provide the foundation for secure attachment in relationships.

You can meet these needs not just by saying them directly (which is nice, and important!), but also making sure you build this into the way you treat your partner in general.

When you communicate with your partner, ask yourself: Are you sending messages of “I value you, I appreciate you, I see you, we’re a team…?” Or?... are you sending other messages?

There are multiple opportunities throughout the day to embed these messages into your everyday interactions.

Be intentional.

It'll pay off.

Your Partner Needs.... (and you need these things from them too!)

... to feel wanted by you

...to feel appreciated by you

... to know that you notice the good they do for you

... to know that their feelings aren't "too much" for you

... to know that their thoughts and ideas matter to you

...to know your heart, not just your head

... to know you'll be there in times of need

... to know you are willing to grow together

Thanks and acknowlegement for this material to Julie Mennano at The Secure Relationship
